PUBLIC
Public Review Period of the Draft Environmental Assessment Report Concludes – October 7, 2025
On October 7, the 60-day public review period for the Webequie Supply Road draft Environmental Assessment Report / Impact Statement officially concluded. This review followed a dedicated 60-day advance review period for Indigenous communities, making it a uniquely comprehensive process.
Webequie First Nation thanks everyone who took the time to read the report and share their comments. The feedback gathered will be carefully considered in shaping the final EAR/IS and ensuring that this project continues to reflect Webequie First Nation’s traditional cultural values and their vision for the future.
This project has been led by Webequie First Nation for many years — guided by its own Three-Tier consultation model, which reflects Webequie’s traditional cultural values, customs and beliefs, ensuring that environmental, cultural, and socio-economic impacts are properly assessed.
The proposed 107-kilometre road will support local jobs, skills training, and better year-round access, while protecting the land, water, and wildlife through mitigation strategies and long-term monitoring. This project continues to be grounded in our community’s values, governance, and vision for not only our future, but the prosperous future we envision for our children and grandchildren.
